HARRODS X Katie Larmour Linen 🎀 'Debutantes & Divas!' (part 2)

For my next collaborative collection with Harrods I put together a selection of glamorous and girly delights. The trinkets included already existing designs within my range elaborated a bit into deluxe versions, exclusive to Harrods. A dewy rose, a divine miniature quilted handbag, a decadent perfume bottle, a fluttering butterfly, and a glittering diamond. This involved adding more sparkles and twinkles with glass beading, diamantés, sequins and tinsel style metallic thread. I’ve never been a debutante, I’ve no doubt I’ve been a diva. It’s pretty hard to keep up any diva tendencies of my own whilst I’ve two toddlers on the scene. I hope these dreamy, whimsical, fairytale interpretations of the brief evoke delight and connect with their discerning shoppers.

Look out for our next update ‘Poles Apart’ featuring arctic animals.

DIAMOND:

I thought Harrods customers might appreciate an extra boarder of twinkling faux crystal stones framing the diamond shape gem, making it sparkle from all angles and adding an extra touch of decadence.

The fine lines of metallic embroidery allude to the many facets of a brilliantly cut diamond, and the bright white cloth to the clarity of the stone.

Over on our own webshop we have our regular version available in a recycled natural linen, click here.

HANDBAG:

Another one crafted from a fine vintage Irish Linen. Embellished with festive tinsel style metallic thread embroidery to illustrate a quilted surface. Hand-stitched beading adds a touch of luxury, with an additional sequin under each glass dot bead elevating it from the original version, finished with a gorgeous faux pearl clasp. The hanging loop is cleverly positioned to appear as the strap should.

This novelty miniature is a nod to the world-famed accessories floor in Harrods.

ROSE:

For my Rose ornament I enlarged it and added dozens of teeny glass dot beads to look like it had a glistening surface, covered in luscious morning dew droplets sitting on top of the sumptuous plump petals.

I sourced some really special vintage pink Irish Linen with a soft, muted ‘old rose’ hue.

Inspired by couture ballgowns of past eras and my own sculpted linen ‘Rose Cushion’.

Over on our own webshop we have our smaller, regular version available in a brand new ‘fairy dust pink’ colour-way, click here.

BUTTERFLY:

For the pastel pink butterfly ornament we could not find a pink faux pearl the exact size and colour needed and so we ended up hand-dying some pink, the end result is beautiful as there is a subtle variety of pretty, pink colour tones throughout the piece from fresh pale pink to peachy which I think work together wonderfully, and make a really unique piece.

PERFUME:

Nothing says ‘diva’ like dousing yourself in extravagant amounts of luxury scent. My antique inspired bottle got upgraded with some metallic gold shaded reflection to enhance the curve of piece.

The rustic natural Irish Linen juxtaposed with a sweet sequin ribbon tied around the neck and delicate floral logo detail, contrast perfectly. A nod to the world-famed perfume department in Harrods itself.

Over on our own webshop we have just made a fresh drop of our original (but still as cute) version, click here.

CLAM SHELL:

I was so pleased that a shell made it into the collection, as my very first tree decoration, 6 years ago, was a simple seashell. This version is much more glamorous with a ‘diamond’ encrusted bed of mini faux pearls, sequins and glass beads, and a huge glossy pearl resting in the middle. Shimmering gold tinsel style metallic thread adds contrast to the matte textured powdery pink linen underneath.

We have only 4 pieces left of our original (but still as sweet) version, click here.

…eek, yes they really are in the store! (see shop pic)

My best try at some ‘debutante ball / diva’ pics. Having never been to one, this is what I came up with:

1. Ireland’s Confetti Wedding Magazine: This is the most debutante pic I could find, going back 10 plus years, from my modelling days. It looks like I had fun on the shoot. I see pink, roses, bows, jewels, and I am sure I was wearing lots of perfume that day.

2. A handful diva-esque pics , again 10-ish years ago shot by Khara Pringle, with my sculpted Irish Linen Rose Cushion in hand.

3. There is no time for lounging around on a bed of luxury cushions these days. Here I am with my popular-as-ever Irish Linen Bow Cushion…10 plus years ahead of the current bow trend!

4. Some butterflies for good measure. Another shot taken by Khara Pringle, of me and a pre-loved silk designer Gucci scarf before I transformed it into a repurposed, luxe-cycled one-of-a-kind cushion. It now lives in a glorious Georgian townhouse in Dublin.
