Some of our items for various projects have been constructed using elements including fabric from vintage and antique designer scarves, with the positive intentions of promoting sustainability. They have been made using what we believe to be authentic designer fabrics.

Cushions:

The cushions are not made by the individual designer brand names the silks are attributed to and we are not affiliated with these brands. In a world of throw away fashions we cherish the old and rare and appreciate exceptional quality. By presenting vintage and antique scarves in a 'cushion frame' we are preserving, restoring and fortifying the delicate textile through layers of backing, the stitching can be reversed and one can request to purchase any scarf in a wall frame as an alternative option.  

Vintage Trim Stockings:

Katie Larmour Linen is known for her use of luxury salvaged materials, with this collection, each one-of-a-kind Christmas stocking has been uniquely created from a combination of pure Irish Linen and finished with a fragment of precious and rare designer silk scarf, from some of the world’s leading brands, for the trim. In doing so these exquisite designer silk scarfs have been reclaimed, recycled and preserved as they are pieces taken from spoiled garments Katie has picked up at antiques markets over the years whilst sourcing antique objects. The scarves in their entirety had flaws such as pulls, plucks, holes, rips, tears, stains and even cigaret burns. Katie has carefully selected portions from these scarves that are in perfect condition to use for these stockings. The scarves would otherwise be deemed as unusable, perhaps even undesirable and without a doubt unbearable as scarf, wonderfully contributing to a world where sustainability has an important place. Her love of creating cushions (pillows) in this similar way, has also provided off cuts from superb former ‘carres’. These special pieces with  character, personally and a pop of colour can be celebrated for their striking patterns, colours and historical designers.
