What a quintessential design for Halloween, this spooky little fella is just the cutest. You could hang him up anywhere in the house for a subtle touch of the season. The mixture of sparkling beads is really magical coming up from the bottom and then disappearing out. And the mouth is adorable with some soft thread embroidery in white, giving an essence of hollowness. Paired with the pumpkin it makes the perfect match for gifting. I created this piece with memories of Halloween festivities as a child - we were on a budget and there wasn’t much for our Mothers in the 80s in Belfast to come up with costume wise - it was an era before online shopping or even supermarket finds for getting dressed up in. My sister and I made do with simple bedsheets - we cut out holes for the eyes and mouth, and a zig-zag pattern trim along the base for a fancier hem. It wasn’t as basic as a bin (trash can) bag, but not far off. Celebrations were really authentic in those days and we had a lot of fun trick-or-treating with everybody else in the neighbourhood.

Condition: A portion of our beading may also be reclaimed and might show signs of wear.
