Katie Larmour brought a touch of glamour to the ‘Big Spring Clean-Up’ campaign to speak out against litter. The Belfast Telegraph has teamed up with ‘Tidy Northern Ireland’ in a bid to get people involved in clearing up the rubbish that is blighting our country. We’ve already got more than 100 elected representatives to support the campaign, including Environment Minister Edwin Poots - and now the beauty is highlighting the litter problem on her own doorstep.

She chose Seapark beach in Holywood, Co Down, as it’s literally on her back doorstep - and also picked it last year as the backdrop to the beachwear pictures for her collaborative hand dyed one-of-a-kind swimsuit collection with fellow Irish designer Riona Treacy.

“We only have one Earth so why would people want to throw litter? It takes as much time to put it in your pocket and put it in a bin,” Katie said.

Last spring some 2,400 people across Northern Ireland set to work scouring away the litter that is blighting communities. Now we’re calling for more people to take part in clean-ups for the Big Spring Clean-up event running from April 8 to 17.
