'Pretty 'n' Pink' Breast Cancer Charity Collaboration 2019

I’ve been honoured to be ‘Pretty ’n’ Pink’ breast cancer charity’s patron since 2009. They are the only registered breast cancer charity in Northern Ireland and such a wonderfully deserving organisation supporting patients and their families as best they can. I decided to produce a limited edition batch of my shell decoration in a bright pink to tie in with the charity’s colourful logo, which is pink of course, to coincide with ’Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ which starts on 1st Oct and runs until 31st October 2019 and also ‘Pink Week’ which runs from the 14th Oct to 20th Oct. I sourced a one-off amount of this colour from my local linen mill deadstock thus making it both sustainable and all the more special as it can’t be made again, unless the factory runs it again in the future. I’ve snapped them here on a beautiful life drawing I found buried away in my parent’s attic that my elder sister Jane sketched in school back in the 90s. The vibrant colour palette executed in pastel couldn’t be more fitting for the colour scheme I had in my mind to best show off he pieces, this stunning backdrop is now framed and up in my own house. The dinky wee shells can be found at the pre-loved clothes store in the Park Centre in West Belfast. (Alternatively any donations are welcome and can be sent to their ‘Just Giving’ account by texting ‘PINK21’ followed by the amount you would like to to 70070.) All going well, if they prove popular I shall make sure to find another just as gorgeous shade of pink for next year.
