VISIT TO GIO PONTE VILLA, VENEZUELA

Winter 2015

I was in Modernist heaven when I was invited to visit Villa Planchart, the iconic Gio Ponte masterpiece in the hills of Caracus, Venezuela. What was so fascinating was that the was left untouched since it's initial creation. It was filled with the original Mid-Century Modern furnishings and decor, it was such a treat. I was in living museum of geometric forms, every shape and block of colour and material inspiring me. My 'Dympna' cushion would have fitted right in on a beautiful calfskin armchair of the same design.
