Triple spiral, ancient motif, triskelion

Luxury artisan ornaments created from a source of recycled, sustainable Irish Linen. We use a mixture of vintage, local mill headstock rolls from one of the last remaining linen mills still active in Ireland today, repurposed antique tablecloths, and off cuts from our own cushion making.

We love our designs and hope you do too- all our embroidered ornaments are fully copyrighted internationally to Katie Larmour.

Unfortunately this little beauty is currently sold out with us, but if you head to ‘Titanic Belfast’ Musuem you might just find one in their wonderful gift shop.

This ancient Celtic motif is known as a ‘triskelion’, which translates as three legs.  It is a triple spiral knot said to stand for eternal life, the pattern representing - water, fire and earth - the forces of nature. It’s one of the oldest Celtic symbols of spirituality. My design was inspired by the stone carvings found at Newgrange - a prehistoric monument in County Meath in Ireland. It’s very pretty translated into sequins. Encapsulated in a circle makes it the perfect bauble for hanging on a tree. Like all our pieces, it twinkles like jewellery.

Condition: A portion of our beading may also be reclaimed and might show signs of wear.

Care: Decoration only. Even though they look yummy do not eat. Not a toy. Do not place near a naked flame.
