Titanic Ship

For such a huge and complex ship, this is a very tiny and simple interpretation!

Our Titanic Ship brings a piece of Belfast’s shipbuilding history to the Christmas tree, reimagined in our signature natural Irish Linen with intricate hand-stitched metallic embroidery. Her name is carefully picked out along the hull, while little iridescent sequins represent the windows. There aren’t quite as many as on the real thing, but we did manage to get the right number of funnels—all four of them!

There’s a deeper sentiment behind this little piece, too. For many Belfast families, Titanic and the shipyards are part of their own family history, with stories passed down about relatives who helped build the ships and the trades they practised there. In our own family, we had a great-great-uncle who was a ‘spark’—an electrician—and another who was a plumber. It’s these personal connections that make this little ship particularly meaningful to so many people.

Pair her with our Cosmic Star for a little nod to the White Star Line, or our Harland & Wolff Cranes, which stand over the Belfast shipyard where she was built.

I was also delighted to be included on the ‘Wall of Fame’ for Titanic Belfast’s Northern Threads exhibition, sitting right beside fellow Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior. Rather wonderful company to find myself in! I haven’t managed to see the display myself—with two toddlers, even somewhere only seven minutes down the road can prove surprisingly difficult to actually get to.

Popular with tourists and locals alike, she makes a little keepsake of Belfast, its maritime heritage and the extraordinary craftsmanship that shaped this famous ship.

Our Irish Linen

Our luxury artisan decorations are handcrafted from beautiful Irish Linen, thoughtfully sourced from a mixture of vintage fabrics, local mill deadstock, repurposed antique tablecloths and offcuts from our own cushion making. We also work with a small number of wonderful Irish linen mills, including one of the last remaining linen mills still active in Ireland today, carefully selecting fabrics for their colour, texture and character.
