There's something quietly mysterious about the hare, with its long associations with moonlight, folklore and the natural world. Our Moonlight Hare captures a little of that magic in beautiful Irish Linen, with a gentle shimmer that makes him particularly lovely for spring and Easter.

Handcrafted in a soft palette of natural oatmeal, white and pale grey, with delicate metallic embroidery, scattered iridescent sequins, glass beads, and a rather lovely little pearl tail, he's a charming addition to an Easter tree, a springtime display or simply somewhere special around the home.

This little Hare has also had a rather grand outing! While we were working on our first collaborative Christmas collection with Harrods, they selected him, just as he was, for their Easter offerings.

I've always loved hearing about the rare golden hares of Rathlin Island, off the north coast of Northern Ireland, with their extraordinary blue eyes and almost mythical appearance. We didn't manage to spot one on our own visit, but I find them fascinating. You can read a little more about our island adventures in our Puffin journal post.

And although our Moonlight Hare wasn't directly inspired by those elusive island residents, I think there's something rather fitting about the connection.

He's also a lovely example of how some of my simpler, earlier designs still deserve their place alongside the more elaborate pieces I've created in recent years. There's something rather appealing about his uncomplicated silhouette, delicate shimmer and little pearl tail, and I wouldn't be inclined to change him.

A lovely little companion to our Moon and other woodland-inspired decorations, and a keepsake to enjoy long after Easter has passed.

Our Irish Linen

Our luxury artisan decorations are handcrafted from beautiful Irish Linen, thoughtfully sourced from a mixture of vintage fabrics, local mill deadstock, repurposed antique tablecloths and offcuts from our own cushion making. We also work with a small number of wonderful Irish linen mills, including one of the last remaining linen mills still active in Ireland today, carefully selecting fabrics for their colour, texture and character.
